4fd7ef0b98 Merge #12693: Remove unused variable in SortForBlock
bb079a0e2c Remove unused variable in SortForBlock (Drew Rasmussen)

Pull request description:

Although txiter is passed to BlockAssembler::SortForBlock, it is never used. Other than BlockAssembler::addPackageTxs, no other method ever makes a call to SortForBlock, thus making this change harmless.

fe8c18ca77 Merge #10574: Remove includes in .cpp files for things the corresponding .h file already included
a720b92 Remove includes in .cpp files for things the corresponding .h file already included (practicalswift)

Pull request description:

Remove includes in .cpp files for things the corresponding .h file already included.

  Example case:
  * `addrdb.cpp` includes `addrdb.h` and `fs.h`
  * `addrdb.h` includes `fs.h`

Then remove the direct inclusion of `fs.h` in `addrman.cpp` and rely on the indirect inclusion of `fs.h` via the included `addrdb.h`.

In line with the header include guideline (see #10575).

This more closely approximates the desirability of a given transaction for
mining, and should result in less re-sorting when transactions get removed from
  the mempool after being mined.

I measured this as approximately a 5% speedup in removeForBlock.

746b5f8cda Remove commented out code (#3117)
* Remove LogPrints which have been commented out.

We have version control systems for a reason, if we want code to not run it should be removed. I personally see no value in keeping these around. I presume at one point they were spamming debug.log so we commented them out, but we really should have just removed them.

I believe all of this is dash specific code but any conflicts this does create are so minor they are not of concern imo.

Implement and enforce DIP6 commitments (#2477)
* Add LLMQ parameters to consensus params

* Add DIP6 quorum commitment special TX

* Implement CQuorumBlockProcessor which validates and handles commitments

* Add quorum commitments to new blocks

* Propagate QFCOMMITMENT messages to all nodes

* Allow special transactions in blocks which have no inputs/outputs

But only for TRANSACTION_QUORUM_COMMITMENT for now.

* Add quorum commitments to self-crafted blocks in DIP3 tests

* Add simple fork logic for current testnet

This should avoid a fork on the current testnet. It only applies to the
current chain which activated DIP3 at height 264000 and block
00000048e6e71d4bd90e7c456dcb94683ae832fcad13e1760d8283f7e89f332f.

When we revert the chain to retest the DIP3 deployment, this fork logic
can be removed again.

* Use quorumVvecHash instead of quorumHash to make null commitments unique

Implementation of https://github.com/dashpay/dips/pull/31

* Re-add quorum commitments after pruning mempool selected blocks

* Refactor CQuorumBlockProcessor::ProcessBlock to have less nested if/else statements

Also add BEGIN/END markers for temporary code.

* Add comments/documentation to LLMQParams

* Move code which determines if a commitment is required into IsCommitmentRequired

This should make the code easier to read and also removes some duplication.

The also changes the error types that are possible from 3 to 2 now. Instead
of having "bad-qc-already-mined" and "bad-qc-not-mining-phase", there is
only "bad-qc-not-allowed" now.

* Use new parameter from consensus parames for the temporary fork

28a6007a40 Prepare DIP3 for testnet and reuse DIP3 deployment for autoix deployment (#2389)
* Add BIP9 parameters for DIP3 deployment on testnet

* Remove autoix BIP9 deployment and reuse DIP3 deployment

* Add BIP9CheckMasternodesUpgraded to chain params

This controls if miners should check for upgraded masternodes first before
adding BIP9 bits to the block version. This only makes sense in network
where masternodes are up and running before BIP9 activation, which is not
necessarely the case in regtest and devnet.

Also refactor ComputeBlockVersion to use fCheckMasternodesUpgraded instead
of the inverse fAssumeMasternodeIsUpgraded. It is set to false by default
and only set to true in CreateNewBlock.

* Check for upgraded masternodes for DIP3 activation (only mainnet and testnet)

* Bump PROTOCOL_VERSION and DMN_PROTO_VERSION

We probably have nodes with 70211 already running on testnet.

* Prepare for DIP3 operator reward payments and switch to array in getblocktemplate

This commit allows to later split MN rewards into multiple recipients, e.g.
the owner reward and operator reward. It also updates the getblocktemplate
output to return an array of MN payments instead of a single entry.

This should allow MN miners and pool operators to prepare themself for the
upcoming changes in regard to operator rewards.

As orphan state is now "network state", like in

UnloadBlockIndex is only used during init if we end up reindexing

that time no connections have been brought up as CConnman hasn't
been started yet, so all of the network processing state logic is
empty when its called.

* Move network-msg-processing code out of main to its own file

* net: create generic functor accessors and move vNodes to CConnman

* net: move whitelist functions into CConnman

* net: move nLastNodeId to CConnman

* net: move nLocalHostNonce to CConnman

This behavior seems to have been quite racy and broken.

Move nLocalHostNonce into CNode, and check received nonces against all
non-fully-connected nodes. If there's a match, assume we've connected
to ourself.

* net: move messageHandlerCondition to CConnman

* net: move send/recv statistics to CConnman

* net: move SendBufferSize/ReceiveFloodSize to CConnman

* net: move nLocalServices/nRelevantServices to CConnman

These are in-turn passed to CNode at connection time. This allows us to offer
different services to different peers (or test the effects of doing so).

* net: move semOutbound and semMasternodeOutbound to CConnman

* net: SocketSendData returns written size

* net: move max/max-outbound to CConnman

* net: Pass best block known height into CConnman

CConnman then passes the current best height into CNode at creation time.

This way CConnman/CNode have no dependency on main for height, and the signals
only move in one direction.

This also helps to prevent identity leakage a tiny bit. Before this change, an
attacker could theoretically make 2 connections on different interfaces. They
would connect fully on one, and only establish the initial connection on the
other. Once they receive a new block, they would relay it to your first
connection, and immediately commence the version handshake on the second. Since
the new block height is reflected immediately, they could attempt to learn
whether the two connections were correlated.

This is, of course, incredibly unlikely to work due to the small timings
involved and receipt from other senders. But it doesn't hurt to lock-in
nBestHeight at the time of connection, rather than letting the remote choose
the time.

* net: pass CClientUIInterface into CConnman

* net: Drop StartNode/StopNode and use CConnman directly

* net: Introduce CConnection::Options to avoid passing so many params

* net: add nSendBufferMaxSize/nReceiveFloodSize to CConnection::Options

* net: move vNodesDisconnected into CConnman

* Made the ForEachNode* functions in src/net.cpp more pragmatic and self documenting

* Convert ForEachNode* functions to take a templated function argument rather than a std::function to eliminate std::function overhead

* net: move MAX_FEELER_CONNECTIONS into connman

553cad94e2 Rewrite CreateNewBlock
Use the score index on the mempool to only add sorted txs in order. Remove much of the validation while building the block, relying on mempool to be consistent and only contain txs that can be mined.
The mempool is assumed to be consistent as far as not containing txs which spend non-existent outputs or double spends, and scripts are valid. Finality of txs is still checked (except not coinbase maturity, assumed in mempool).
Still TestBlockValidity in case mempool consistency breaks and return error state if an invalid block was created.
Unit tests are modified to realize that invalid blocks can now be constructed if the mempool breaks its consistency assumptions and also updated to have the right fees, since the cached value is now used for block construction.

40cd32e835 Revert "Add rules--presently disabled--for using GetMedianTimePast as endpoint for lock-time calculations"
This reverts commit 9d55050773.

As noted by Luke-Jr, under some conditions this will accept transactions which are invalid by the network
rules. This happens when the current block time is head of the median time past and a transaction's
 locktime is in the middle.

This could be addressed by changing the rule to MAX(this_block_time, MTP+offset) but this solution and
the particular offset used deserve some consideration.

9d55050773 Add rules--presently disabled--for using GetMedianTimePast as endpoint for lock-time calculations
The lock-time code currently uses CBlock::nTime as the cutoff point for time based locked transactions. This has the unfortunate outcome of creating a perverse incentive for miners to lie about the time of a block in order to collect more fees by including transactions that by wall clock determination have not yet matured. By using CBlockIndex::GetMedianTimePast from the prior block instead, the self-interested miner no longer gains from generating blocks with fraudulent timestamps. Users can compensate for this change by simply adding an hour (3600 seconds) to their time-based lock times.

If enforced, this would be a soft-fork change. This commit only adds the functionality on an unexecuted code path, without changing the behaviour of Bitcoin Core.

391dff16fe Do not store Merkle branches in the wallet.
Assume that when a wallet transaction has a valid block hash and transaction position
in it, the transaction is actually there. We're already trusting wallet data in a
much more fundamental way anyway.

To prevent backward compatibility issues, a new record is used for storing the
block locator in the wallet. Old wallets will see a wallet file synchronized up
to the genesis block, and rescan automatically.

2016576998 Fix crash when mining with empty keypool.
Since the introduction of the ScriptForMining callback, the mining
functions (setgenerate and generate) crash with an assertion failure
(due to a NULL pointer script returned) if the keypool is empty. Fix
this by giving a proper error.

26fed43603 Major masternode broadcast/ping changes (incompatible with prev version, proto bump required):
- Do not rely on local lastTimeSeen and requested fRequested anymore. Use last know (signed) ping instead and base all logic on that. Should reduce mn list difference between
 nodes.
- Rework CActiveMasternode accordingly along with states, errorMessages, rpc etc.
- Clean some related code, move parts from public to private
- drop c_str in LogPrintf that were related to this functionality (todo: drop it for LogPrintf everywhere else)

6ebac0782f Remove ChainParams::DefaultMinerThreads
No longer relevant after #5957. This hack existed because of another
hack where the numthreads parameter, on regtest, doubled as how many
blocks to generate.

4716267 Use real number of cores for default -par, ignore virtual cores (Wladimir J. van der Laan)

47162673c7 Use real number of cores for default -par, ignore virtual cores
To determine the default for `-par`, the number of script verification
threads, use [boost:🧵:physical_concurrency()](http://www.boost.org/doc/libs/1_58_0/doc/html/thread/thread_management.html#thread.thread_management.thread.physical_concurrency)
which counts only physical cores, not virtual cores.

Virtual cores are roughly a set of cached registers to avoid context
switches while threading, they cannot actually perform work, so spawning
a verification thread for them could even reduce efficiency and will put
undue load on the system.

Should fix issue #6358, as well as some other reported system overload
issues, especially on Intel processors.

The function was only introduced in boost 1.56, so provide a utility
function `GetNumCores` to fall back for older Boost versions.
